There
are lots of ways to plan that special date with
someone you really want to get to know better.
Sadly, some of the most "conventional"
dates don't help you with that goal of really
becoming friends and laying the groundwork for
becoming much more than friends. While dinner
and a movie is safe and probably a surefire
date that you cant screw up, sitting next to
your sweetheart in a dark theater doesn't give
you much of a chance to interact with her other
than that occasional hug.
That is why the best creative date ideas
are ones that are active and have both of
you getting involved up to your elbows in
the date. These are also the dates that are
the most fun and the ones that she will remember
lots longer than yet another meal and then
a Hollywood movie that is just like all the
rest.
So start looking for creative date ideas
that have both of you jumping into some artistic
or hands on activity that results in something
new at least as an experience for both of
you. A great is example is a trip to the pet
store. You can announce at the beginning of
the date that you both are going to buy you
a new pet.
Then go to the pet store and have the best
time picking out a new aquarium or even a
new puppy or kitten. Just think of how much
love she will express when you get that cute
creature home and name it together. She will
want to come over often and help nurture the
little pet along and each time she comes over,
that romance gets deeper.
You can take that otherwise bland event of
going to a restaurant for a meal and turn
it into a fun event that can fill the entire
evening. It's always fun for your date when
you cook for her. But what about if you cook
for each other? This is a great and creative
date idea that you can plan ahead for and
each of you come up with parts of the meal
that you excel at. Then start the date out
at the grocery store picking out all the ingredients.
Don't forget to stop and get a nice bottle
of wine to celebrate the successful event
together.
That time in the kitchen will be full of
laughter, kisses and the fun of making something.
And if you make a mess, who cares? The important
thing is you are doing this together and you
will enjoy the meal together. And by getting
up to your elbows in the food, it will be
one of the best meals you ever shared with
a date. And just leave the dishes for later
so you can cuddle in the living room letting
your food settle with that nice wine you bought
and maybe a bit of romance.
Once you start thinking of new creative date
ideas that are active, the ideas will come
fast and furious. You can get involved in
Habitat for Humanity and spend the day helping
to build a house for an underprivileged family.
You can carve pumpkins at Halloween time or
make Christmas goodies and then go caroling
in your neighborhood or at local elder centers.
You can visit the children's hospital and
take them presents you made yourself and then
get the whole ward involved in a rousing card
game to get everybody, even those sick kids,
laughing.
These active dates will help you and your
sweetheart bond with each new experience.
And the memories will be around all the time
in the form of the things you made, pictures
you took on an outing or that cute pet you
adopted together. And that is the kind of
date that stays with you both in your minds
and in your shared memories as you grow closer
and even fall in love getting up to your elbows
in your dates.

Dating Tip #1
Be Prepared - Some great dates are the ones that are spontaneous, but if you make every date spontaneous then things are bound to go wrong! Take the time to think through your date, plan for any problems like taking an umbrella with you if it is a long walk to the car and the sky looks bleak, or make sure that the restaurant you are going to does not have a hen night on when you are going for a quiet romantic meal... |
Dating Tip #2
Chivalry Is A Must - If you are a man then you should be chivalrous and hold the door for your date, let her order first, pull out her chair - be a gentleman! If you are a woman then you have to let him! It is no wonder that the old fashioned manners and politeness are dying out when people are so stubborn they think it is wrong to let others hold the door or pay the bill! |
Dating Tip #3
Make Eye Contact - Although some people feel uncomfortable with making eye contact, it is eye contact that shows you are interested in your date. People tend to keep eye contact when listening but not when talking to someone, try to make eye contact whenever possible (if you are interested in them that is!). |
